For me, acting and visual storytelling are an embodiment of essence. They are ways of revealing truth—of discovering the quiet strength, emotion, and transformation within every human story.
Whether I am behind the camera as a photographer and filmmaker, or in front of it as a performer, I am guided by one principle: authenticity of expression above all else.
My work lives at the intersection of photography, cinema, and performance. I am drawn to stories that reveal courage, vulnerability, and the moment when someone discovers the warrior within themselves. Through image, movement, and narrative, I seek to capture that moment of truth.
I was born into an Arabian African family and raised in a strict Muslim environment in Sudan. Creativity existed there in paradox—fashion; film and artistic expression were often discouraged, yet life itself was filled with ceremonial rituals rich in symbolism, color, and dramatic movement. Those early contrasts awakened my awareness of storytelling and the emotional power of visual imagery.
As a teenager, I became captivated by the cinematic worlds of Bollywood and Western films. Costume, character, and atmosphere fascinated me. Cinema felt like a language I instinctively understood. Inspired by my mother’s creativity, I began designing garments using silk, satin, and lace, exploring visual identity through fashion. From my father, an Army Major, I learned discipline, perseverance, and the courage to follow a path that others may not understand.
My creative journey began in Sudan when early photographs of me were published in the United States. At the time, women pursuing careers in fashion, film, or media faced serious cultural and legal restrictions. Pursuing my art meant moving away from my birthplace.
I moved to London, where I began modeling professionally. Collaborating with international photographers exposed me to diverse artistic styles and introduced me to the rhythm of the global fashion and film industry.
At twenty-two, I relocated to the United States to expand my work in acting, modeling, and visual storytelling while pursuing formal education.
My academic background includes:
These studies—spanning film, media, aesthetics, and cosmetology—continue to influence how I see the world and how I tell stories through image and motion.
During this time, I earned my license as a cosmetologist and esthetician and became a respected Seasonal Color Analyst and Total Image Consultant. My multidisciplinary expertise allowed me to work with globally recognized brands, including Elizabeth Arden, Estée Lauder in New York, Harrods, Selfridges in London, and the Paris Gallery in Dubai. I served as an image consultant to high-profile individuals, including Princess Alsheika Wadima, daughter of the founder of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan.
Photography, for me, is not simply about capturing an image, it is about capturing presence.
The most powerful images are born from trust, connection, and the courage to be seen.
My photographic style emphasizes clean composition, natural light, emotional presence, and movement. Rather than rigid posing, I guide people toward authenticity—allowing personality, mood, and narrative to unfold naturally in front of the lens.
Each project begins with listening. I want to understand the story behind the person, the brand, or the character. From there, I shape the creative direction so that every image feels intentional, cinematic, and emotionally grounded.
My work supports:
The goal is always the same: to create images that feel alive.
Creating meaningful imagery requires an environment of trust and openness.
Clients often describe collaborating with me as calm, focused, and intuitive. My experience as both a performer and a photographer allows me to understand the vulnerability of being in front of the camera.
During each session, I guide gently while allowing space for spontaneity.
Those are the moments where the real story appears.
This collaborative energy transforms each session into a shared creative process where ideas evolve naturally and authentically.
Today, based in New York City, my work continues to evolve across photography, modeling, acting, filmmaking, scriptwriting, and creative direction. In 2020, I established SE SHADIA INTREPID FILM PRODUCTION LLC, providing films, commercials, videos, product photography, portraits, editorials, headshots, location scouting, and post-production services.
SE SHADIA represents this multidisciplinary creative vision—a space where photography, film, and storytelling converge. Through my work as a photographer, filmmaker, actor, and entrepreneur, I continue to collaborate with and inspire creatives across fashion, media, and film. My global clientele reflects a commitment to quality, intention, and visual storytelling that remains deeply personal and professionally refined.
I am currently writing a memoir and a screenplay that explore my journey from Sudan to Europe and eventually to the United States, reflecting on the experiences that shaped both my life and artistic voice.
Every chapter of this journey informs me of the stories I tell today. Let us tell you.
